TripAdvisor has compiled a list of its “top emerging destinations in the world” – and a British town features.
The travel company has placed Ipswich as 14th on the list.
This makes the Suffolk location more desirable than exotic locations including Petropolis, Brazil and Mirissa, Sri Lanka.
To rank the lust-worthy destinations, TripAdvisor analysed data from its website.
Using an algorithm, it noted which locations had seen a surge in interest.
It considered the places where tourists were drawn to accommodation, restaurants and attractions.

Following the study, 25 locations were pinpointed.
Kaliningrad, Russia, reached the top spot.
Meanwhile, Saranda, Albania and Beirut, Lebanon, were close runners up.
Ipswich was the only British city to be named on the list.
According to TripAdvisor, it was awarded the accolade due to its "historical charm" and "ever-growing list of theatres and dance houses".
