For the most part, travellers tend to opt for more comfortable items when flying to make the experience as comfortable as possible.

However, it seems Kate and William don’t have this luxury – or at least not when in the public eye.

The duo are known for their classic wardrobe staples when flying.

According to Hello! magazine Kate’s arrival outfit is either a signature two-piece suit or long dress, whereas William rarely arrives not wearing a suit or smart dinner jacket.

In true Kate fashion, the Duchess was seen arriving in Ireland earlier today dressed in a classic, all-green ensemble.

She wore a mid-length green gown which appeared to have a floral print.

The mother of three coupled it with an emerald dress coat and pointed heel shoes.

Whether the pair slip into something more comfortable once the aircraft door is sealed is unknown, though given then the amount of luggage they have been seen travelling with, its likely they have space for an inflight outfit.

The royal couple is known for their extravagant packing.

According to The Sun’s Royal Correspondent Emily Andrews, Kate, in particular, has a very exclusive way of transporting her garments.

“Obviously when we go to the airports, especially when it’s hand luggage only, we’re trying to cram all our toiletries into that plastic bag,” she said.

She says she has “been on a plane where Kate’s dresses had their own seat to make sure they were kept flat.”

Emily continued: “They are not going to be shoved in the hole just to be squashed by everyone else’s.”

Interestingly, the entire Royal Family also use the same brand of leather suitcases.

The royals go to is classic brand Globe-Trotter, which the Queen first opted for on her honeymoon in 1947 and has remained loyal to ever since.

Kate and William each own a 21″ trolley case and the 33″ extra deep suitcase from the limited edition Goring Hotel collection, according to Hello! magazine.

Each item of luggage is lined with a Gainsborough silk pattern.

Meanwhile, Kate is said to opt for a yellow luggage tag when travelling abroad.

It is inscribed with the words “HRH The Duchess of Cambridge.”

She has also been seen in the past using carry on bags designed by Cath Kidston and Longchamp.
