Google Maps: Users left shocked after man is found lying in street – how did this happen?

Google Maps Street View is one of the most useful tools to help people navigate the world. You can view landmarks and cities as if you were there in real time. However sometimes when users scan the site, they come across some mysterious sites that leave people with many questions. That was definitely the case for this scene in Doncaster.

This scene takes place on a high-street in Doncaster where there are lots of people going about their daily life.

The sun is shining overhead and there is a small road running through the middle of the high-street.

Nothing looks too peculiar about the scene, until you come across a man lying in the middle of the road.

Posting on Reddit, one eagle-eyed user wrote: “Man looks on as he’s stretched out over the road.”

It looks particularly odd, seen as the man is missing his head and it looks as if he is walking but his body is lying down.

The man is wearing a burgundy t-shirt with a green jacket along with blue jeans.

What makes the scene weirder and left users questioning this scene is that the man can also be seen standing on the side of the pavement.

From a different angle, the man is walking along the street and his leg can be seen a few feet in front of his actual leg.

Users said that this was one of the weirdest sightings they had ever seen on the site.

While there is no instant explanation as to what has happened here, they may be a rational reason as to why the man is pictured twice.

Glitches are fairly common on Google Maps due to a number of reasons.

People are constantly moving, especially in a high-street and so this man may have got caught in a glitch.

Although no one else on the high-street seems to be caught in the same glitch so the system must have just made an error on this man.

Google Maps creates the images by stitching together the 360 image sets submitted by users, meaning small errors can easily occur.

What must have happened is that the Google camera would have taken one image when the man was still and in frame and then took another when the man was moving toward the camera.

The stitching then becomes confused and creates what is known as a glitch.

When the Google Car was driving away, the man must have them walked across the road and the Google camera must have taken another photo, creating even more of a glitch.

This isn’t the first time a glitch has left viewers shocked and left asking many questions.

Another scene takes place on a mountain side, with beautiful views overlooking the sea.

Nothing appears to be out of the ordinary, until you zoom into the man’s face.

A Reddit user uploaded the photo with the caption: “Don’t want to be censored? Just remove a portion of your face.”

The man in the middle of the shot, seems to be missing part of his face.

It is also strange how the man’s face is only slightly blurred, while all the other people around him have their faces completely blurred due to Google’s privacy rules.

This man has become stuck in a common Google glitch where he must have been moving when the camera was taking a photo.
