U.S. carriers are now offering travel waivers on Seoul
itineraries with Covid-19 coronavirus cases in South Korea.
Details of the waivers differ, but American, Delta and
United are waiving change fees and fare differences on rebooked flights to
Seoul through most of the spring.
The American waiver applies to flights to Seoul through
April 24. To enjoy the full waiver, tickets must be rebooked for travel by June
30.
The Delta waiver applies to Seoul flights departing through
April 30 and tickets must be rebooked for travel beginning no later than May
31.
The United waiver applies to Seoul flights departing through
June 30. Tickets must be rebooked by that date as well.
The carriers will waive change fees but apply fare
differences for all travel rebooked to a destination other than Seoul.
South Korea had 763 confirmed Covid-19 cases as of Monday’s
World Health Organization Situation Report, including 129 in the previous 24
hours.
The CDC on Monday advised Americans to avoid nonessential
travel to South Korea, issuing a Level 3 travel advisory.
