General Authority of Civil Aviation urges passengers to review regulations on its official website, or contact the authority’s 24-hour call centre
Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has mandated that airlines operating in the kingdom pay indemnities worth nearly $15 million for violating their own terms and conditions, according to local media reports.
According to Arab News, the move forms part of a wider effort to protect the rights of customers and enhance air services in the kingdom.
Among the reasons cited for the GACA for airlines having to pay indemnities are losses and damage to luggage as well as flight delays and cancellations.
Any airline operating in the kingdom is subject to the penalties.
GACA has urged passengers to review its regulations on its official website, or contact the authority’s 24-hour call centre.
