Turtle Bay Resort has named Chris Hrybiniak, who has more than three decades of experience in dining and hospitality, as executive chef.
Hrybiniak will lead the North Shore Oahu resort’s full culinary team for the main hotel’s five restaurants and bars, in-room dining, and special events and conference services.
Hrybiniak started his culinary career in Las Vegas, where he worked in the kitchens of Spago by Wolfgang Puck, Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas, JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort and Spa, and Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa. He then moved to the Bahamas as part of the pre-opening team for SLS Lux Baha Mar, and spent the next six years at various Caribbean properties, most recently serving as executive chef at Santa Barbara Beach and Golf Resort in Curacao.
“Chef Hrybiniak understands the unique benefits and challenges of the island lifestyle, and the importance of working with the local community to showcase the freshest ingredients and cultural influences,” Jerry Gibson, vice president of Turtle Bay Resort, said in a statement. “There is a new energy in the kitchen, and we are excited to see and taste the creative twists he will add to our culinary offerings and menus.”
