AndBeyond opens treehouse near Kruger Natl Park

Luxury travel company AndBeyond has launched a treehouse experience at Ngala Private Game Reserve, which is situated near Kruger National Park in South Africa. The Ngala Treehouse is a remote, overnight retreat that offers travelers a sleepout experience beneath the stars.

The four-level treehouse features a choice of two sleeping areas: an enclosed, weatherproof bedroom with a king-size bed, hot running shower and flushing toilet on the third level or an elevated sleep-out platform set beneath a retractable awning on the rooftop. Ngala Treehouse can host a maximum of two adults and two children between the ages of 10 and 16 in its two sleeping areas.

Travelers will be treated to a tapas-style picnic dinner set up beneath the stars. They will receive a radio and a mobile phone for use in case of inclement weather or other emergencies.

Although the treehouse does not offer a full kitchen, there is a stocked bar and selection of midnight and breakfast snacks as well as a coffee station. The treehouse is solar-powered, enabling visitors to charge their camera batteries and other appliances.

Not designed for long-term stays, the Ngala Treehouse is an innovative overnight wilderness experience that complements a stay at one of the reserve’s two permanent lodges, AndBeyond Ngala Safari Lodge or AndBeyond Ngala Tented Camp.

Prices for the Ngala Treehouse start from roughly $560 per night. For more information, visit
